UDA Takes all top House Seats, Fringe Parties Left in the Cold

Sunday, September 18, 2022 –Unite Democratic Alliance UDA Party bagged all the House seats in what pundits have described as shortchanging affiliate parties.

It has emerged that none of the MPs announced by President William Ruto comes from other parties in their alliance. These parties are Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya, Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC, Amason Kingi’s PAA, Alfred Mutua’s MCC, Mwangi Kiunjuri’s TSP among others.

Also on the list is Johnnies come lately like Ali Roba’s UDM Party and Ugenya MP’s MDG Party which also joined just the other day.

In a detailed Sunday September 18 report by the Star, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw’ah of UDA Party was picked as their National Assembly Majority leader and will be deputised by Owen Baya, also an UDA MP.

Further on this list, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro was selected the National Assembly Chief Minority Whip with his deputy Naomi Waqo, current Marsabit Woman representative – all having been elected on their UDA Party ticket.

Homenews.co.ke also learnt that Kericho County Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, was appointed the senate majority leader and will be deputised by Nakuru’s counterpart Tabitha Karanja. Interestingly, all are UDA elected leaders.

Moreover, Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale of UDA Party was selected Chief Majority whip at the Senate and will be deputised by his Samburu counterpart Steve Lelegwe who is also from UDA Party.

Though Ford Kenya and PAA could heal their thirst on the election of their party leaders Moses Wetang’ula and Amason Kingi as Senate and National Assembly speakers respectively, the rest of the parties have been left to dry on the sun.

This move is contrary to what is happening in Azimio la Umoja where their boss Raila Odinga allowed parties to share the spoils.

Their well-harmonized list was read out by co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday in an event held at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Memoria located in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
