Saturday, January 15, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto and his UDA brigade are set to hold a mega rally at Nairobi’s Jacaranda Grounds on Sunday January 16.
Various leaders allied to his camp updated their social media pages with posters on the Sunday itinerary of their UDA Party stop-overs lined up around the city before holding a final convention at Jacaranda in Embakasi East.
Among the leaders who updated their timelines calling upon supporters to turn in numbers at Jacaranda is nominated Senator Millicent Omanga who is also vying for Nairobi woman representative seat.
“There is a mother of all rallies at Jacaranda grounds tomorrow. Hustlers will throng the ground to welcome and listen to DP @WilliamsRuto as he sends a subtle message of victory, economic recovery and social transformation. The wave will be witnessed kesho in a special way,” Omanga wrote on Twitter.
Today Saturday, Ruto was attending to family matters where his son Nick Ruto was at his in-laws home to pay dowry. The event held Ruto, family and friends hostage at home.
The Jacaranda political event, according to pundits, is aimed at responding to ODM Party boss Raila Odinga who today had a successful rally at Thika Municipal Stadium.
Raila used the opportunity to puncture William Ruto’s style of leadership which he described as deceitful.
Fire-spiting Odinga asked the Mt Kenya Region to be wary of Ruto whose development agenda in Jubilee government is characterized by rampant looting of public resources; what interfered with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s plan to deliver on his manifesto.
Raila who was being cheered by supporters as he dressed down Ruto went on to ask the DP to pave way for new leadership since he had failed to honor hundreds of promises made in 2013 and 2017.
