UDA Wins Kiagu Ward Election, Kuria Serves Ruto a Notice

Friday, December 17, 2021 –United Democratic Alliance Party UDA has won Meru County’s Kiagu Ward by-election where Moses Kuria’s candidate came second.

UDA Party candidate Simon Kiambi Ngaruni beat the rest in the hotly contested duel after collecting 2,440 votes being 35 percent of total votes cast.

Moses Kuria’s CCK Party contestant Milton Mwendwa, on his part, staged an impressive fight that saw him come second with 1,823 votes(26 percent) as Jubilee Party candidate Samson Kinyua came third after managing 1,609 votes.

United Democratic Alliance UDA politicians played a big role in campaigning for their candidate in Meru. They deployed their arson on the ground to make sure they carry the day.

And reacting on the results, ailing Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria noted that despite having been away in hospital, his candidate still managed to give well-oiled UDA Party a run for their money.

“From the bottom of my heart, I take this opportunity to thank the people of Kiagu Ward in Meru County.

“Despite our candidate Milton Mwenda Kabobo losing to UDA with a paltry 200 votes, you have sent a strong message that the future of Meru, Mt Kenya and Kenya is Chama Cha Kazi,” he wrote on Facebook.

Jubilee Party dispatched a team of campaigners led by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya who have been campaigning for their candidate, Kinyua.

Political parties which participated used the chance to showcase their might ahead of the 2022 general election. Any results from the contest was a pointer of what could happen in 2022 presidential race.
