Wednesday, June 15, 2022 –Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi and former Governor William Kabogo almost fought in the public during their Kenya Kwanza rally held in Kiambu.
On Wednesday June 15, a video surfaced online showing the two politicians allied to William Ruto clash over who should be next governor of the populous County.
In the altercation that lasted for minutes, an angry William Kabogo’s car was seen ramming Wamatangi’s car in what many saw as a starting point of their supremacy battle towards the August general elections.
An eyewitness who exclusively spoke to this desk confirmed that Kabogo was in the car that hit Wamatangi’s vehicle.
The confrontation ensued at the time Wamatangi was sharing same car with Mr. Rigathi Gachagua. He accused Kabogo of using both intimidation means and threats to win back the seat which he lost in 2017 to Ferdinand Waititu.
On the other side, a visibly angry Kabogo could be seen gesturing at Wamatangi with intentions of triggering a fight.
As this was going on, each was holding a microphone and speaking at each other in an ugly political confrontation that signified the start of sibling rivalry in their Kenya Kwanza alliance.
“I will no longer buy fear from you Kabogo, you spoke here and I did not interrupt you, my focus is on developing Kiambu …Shut up and get out of here!” Wamatangi lamented.
Immediately, Kabogo responded in an equal measure asking the senator to focus on addressing issues and stop the side shows.
“Talk about your issues or get out of here,” Kabogo quickly retorted.
This is happening just days after The Service Party TSP leader Mwangi Kiunjuri on Sunday June 12, also took issue with the entire Kenya Kwanza leadership.
