Saturday, August 21, 2021 -Chaos erupted in Machakos during a Friday burial service where politicians from rival camps had converged.

It started when OKA and UDA Parties politicians started exchanging politics with each side calling names the other. This was heightened further when United Democratic Alliance UDA National Chairman Johnston Muthama took to the podium.

Those who attended among others; Transport Cabinet Administrative Secretary Wavinya Ndeti and UDA’s Johnston Muthama almost turned physical. They were embroiled in an ugly shouting match that lasted for over 10 minutes before police took charge.

Muthama could be heard threatening to walk to where Wavinya Ndeti was sited and repeatedly warned her against shouting him down. He maintained that the likes of Ndeti were still worshiping ‘rejects’ like Kalonzo Musyoka who their region long forgot.

On her part, angry Wavinya addressed that the region was fully behind the One Kenya Alliance OKA and not UDA which doesn’t embrace unity of Kenyans. She spoke in English, Kiswahili and her Kamba dialect saying OKA was the next powerhouse in their area and Kenya at large.

“We are going into the 2022 General Election and there are people who are generating a lot of heat. Kidole moja hakiwezi kumuua chawa (One finger cannot killed a louse). Those criticising OKA’s unity are the enemy of progress in Kenya.

“We must be united as we all need each other. You cannot claim that you will stand on your own. For us the Kamba, we shall stand with our own,” Wavinya declared.

This was happening during burial service of Mzee James Muthama father to Ulbanus Muthama who unsuccessfully contested for the Machakos senatorial seat.
