Uhuru Schedules Another Meeting With BBI Proponents

Monday, August 23, 2021 -Another third meeting has been organized by President Uhuru Kenyatta in which he is expected to host opposition team.

Our sources have indicated that the said meeting will be taking place at their usual venue point in Mombasa and will take place on Wednesday August 25.

BBI court proceedings on Wednesday June 2.

The Peoples Daily reported that the meeting will focus on discussing the way forward for the Building Bridges Initiative BBI and what action can be taken to see some of its sections implemented through other avenues.

Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula will be converging in Mombasa again and sources have hinted that they will also be talking matters alliance in preparation for 2022 contest. KANU Party Chairman Gideon Moi will also be part of the meeting.

“The president had convened a meeting on Monday, August 23, of Raila, and the OKA principals in order to take stock of the Court of Appeal verdict but this has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 25, to allow maximum attendance.

“This will also be a follow-up on the meeting on Tuesday last week, which focused on forming a formidable alliance to face Ruto in next year’s General Election,” the source intimated to the media.

After their last meeting, OKA leaders came out guns blazing to blame the media for misreporting that they had been whipped to support Mr. Odinga. Mudavadi who led the team read a stern riot act to the Daily Nation accusing writers of filing skewed report that was misleading their supporters.

“No one asked or even suggested that we support anyone for anything. Nation Media was not in that meeting either and if they have a specific candidate in their minds they can tell Kenyans about their political affiliation,” Mudavadi stated.

On his part, Opposition chief Raila Odinga announced taking a break from BBI politics to pursue his 2022 ambitions saying time was quickly running out.

As the contest to State House heats up following the Friday BBI verdict, players have been forced to press reset button in their bid to chart a new way forward.
