Wednesday, January 31, 2024 -Uhuru Kenyatta son, Jomo Kenyatta, has withdrawn a case he had against the Government over his firearms.
The ex-president elder son had, last year, moved to court seeking for justice following a plot by the State to withdraw licenses of some of his arms.
On Wednesday January 31, a consent adopted by High Court judge Jairus Ngaah confirmed that Jomo withdrew the said case, after the State agreed not to interfere with his privacy and security arrangements.
The parties further agreed that the Firearms Licensing Board FALB has no plans of denying the complainant his access and ownership of the weapons.
The two sides, together, also agreed that any interference with this ownership must follow the due process as stipulated and guided by the Firearms Act.
Jomo is the elder son of the former head of State Uhuru Kenyatta and whose home was raided by security officers at night in search of the guns.
The State, through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI would claim that he owned several guns against the required number and that he was supplying them to anti-state demonstrators.
Politicians allied to President William Ruto would also claim that his(Jomo) father was key in financing Azimio protests against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
But in a push back, Uhuru Kenyatta rubbished the claims and dared the State to withdraw all his family security saying he would make arrangements to hire private guards to secure his family and family properties.
That was the same period his Northerland Farm had been attacked and pricey sheep stolen by youths from around Kiambu County.
