Wednesday, January 26, 2022 –President Uhuru Kenyatta has said both Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula are lost after they recently joined his deputy’s bandwagon.
Uhuru who was reacting to the move by the two leaders to support William Ruto for his 2022 bid noted that the country was fully in favour of Raila Odinga and what Musalia and Wetang’ula had done was an unfortunate step.
Addressing hundreds of Western Region lawmakers at Statehouse Kenya on Tuesday January 25, the head of State cautioned Mudavadi against taking the route he had taken saying should he have stuck with Raila, his political journey would have remained safer.
He added that Odinga’s presidency would have benefited the two leaders more than anybody else and taking the direction which they have taken will be catastrophic in the long run.
“They just are lost. They would have benefited had they stayed with Raila. Kenyans will be in good hands under Raila’s leadership instead of those people that they are running to,” Uhuru remarked.
He is said to have wondered why the two Western kingpins would treat Gideon and Kalonzo disrespectfully by inviting Ruto in an event attended by them.
Mudavadi’s move to join hands with Ruto has left many of his MPs and supporters divided. A larger number has already jumped to Azimio la Umoja Movement. MP Ayub Savula(Lugari), Aseka Miradi(Khwisero) and Matungu’s Peter Oscar Nabulindo have already switched camps.
Raila who has also reacted to Mudavadi’s actions said whatever the ANC Party leader wanted to deliver on Sunday during their delegates meeting did not materialize and was a non-issue to him.
Mudavadi spent the better part of Sunday January 23 dismantling Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration which he termed as a failed administration. He singled out corruption, cost of living among other things saying they had increased during the Kenyatta time.
He also angrily labeled the handshake partners as a fraud and who must be rejected with any project they try to front.
