Sunday, July 18, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has summoned party members for a crisis meeting aimed at salvaging their political boat which seems to be on the brink of sinking

This development is coming at a time the ruling party is facing so many survival challenges including failure to win any parliamentary seat against their splinter United Democratic Alliance UDA.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega.

It is expected that the Wednesday July 21 meeting will discuss among other things, the dismal performance in the recent elections and how to improve if necessary through a complete overhaul of the party’s official.

“Jubilee Party’s core supporters are unhappy and urgent action is needed to forestall further downwards slide,” stated Governor Anne Waiguru.

Further details indicated that both Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Vice Chairman David Murathe will have to explain why they are not actively participating in campaigns despite being top party officials. This could also lead to their sacking.

Just after their recent loss in Kimbaa and a narrow survival in Muguga Ward, Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega fired a warning at the duo to volunteer to quit or be haunted out of office by members.

However, in response to the accusations, Mr. Tuju who was speaking to KTN News said that he has not been planning to vacate office but if this will be the National Management Committee NMC’s decision then he will have to abide by and walk away.
