In the fresh reports confirmed from reliable sources, President Uhuru Kenyatta invited all the members of One Kenya Alliance who includes, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula and Mudavadi. Also in the meeting is KANU Party chairman Gideon Moi.

Organising Secretary Ford Kenya Party Chris Mandu Mandu yesterday Monday August 9 confirmed the invitation saying his boss was on the way to Mombasa where the president is currently pitching camp.

“The principals were only told that the meeting would discuss matters directly affecting the nation at the moment.

“Hon Wetang’ula is preparing to leave Nairobi this morning for Mombasa,” Mandu Mandu told the People Daily.

In his bid to unite the leaders ahead of the next polls, Uhuru has remained steadfast in making sure that his defiant Deputy President William Ruto does not take power from him in 2022.

He believes this can only be made possible through unity of other parties led by Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party which, so far, makes the biggest political movement in the country.

OKA members have been bitter with their big brother Raila Odinga whom they accuse of highhandedness and betrayal and vowed never to work with him again.

Further, Musalia Mudavadi and his lieutenants have insisted that the only way they could work with ODM is if it agrees to join them and not the other way round.

“Some powerful individuals in government and in business circles have approached us with the proposal that we support Raila’s presidential bid because he has the numbers, and the network. But we are reluctant to buy that idea,” Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior divulged.

Details from insides indicated that Uhuru’s allies want the rest of the partners to throw their weight behind Odinga who is the only able politician with heavy networks, financial muscles and political acceptance across the board.
