Saturday, January 23, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has summoned all Mt. Kenya leaders for a mega weeklong meeting to be held at Sagana State Lodge.
Kenyans.co.ke reported that plans are already at an advanced stage and the president has just to approve the day for the convention which could be January 30th.
“We have a meeting this weekend in Nairobi to finalise the Sagana Convetion which will bring together both elected and government officials from the region.
“We are also targeting grassroots leaders since it will not be a one-day event,” revealed a government official involved in the preparations.
It is reported that the Head of State will officially use the opportunity as a launch pad for the Building Bridges Initiative BBI Report which seems to be facing a n early rejection from members of his backyard.
A source further claimed that after the meeting, there will be a complete change of both political atmosphere and events across the region.
“The kind of momentum we are going to gather after the president’s meeting will surprise many. We have been quiet but we are now determined to go full throttle. You just wait and see,” the source added.
This meeting is coming at the backdrop of a letter from Senator Irungu Kang’ata who recently stirred controversy over the popularity of the BBI Report in Mt. Kenya.
Meanwhile, scanty information has it that Deputy President William Ruto is also scheduling to have a mega meeting with Mt. Kenya MCAs in a new battle for Mt. Kenya votes.
