Uhuru’s series of meetings to ‘Stop Ruto’ kicks off

Thursday, January 28, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has launched a steady charm offensive campaign against William Ruto’s disturbing popularity in Central Kenya.

In his ongoing meetings with a large section of Mt. Kenya Region leaders and politicians, it has been revealed that his main aim is to solidify support base that will lock DP William Ruto out of the region completely.

Among those who already paid him a visit at State House on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday January 27 are 10 governors who disclosed that such meetings will carry on regularly until the purpose is finally achieved.

“The president was categorical that this will not be a one-off visit but a long sustained campaign to ensure political sanity and peace.

“We will also be explaining the benefits of BBI to our people in a sustained campaign” the county head was quoted by Daily Nation.

The State House meeting will, according to our well placed sources, culminate into a mega meeting with all political leaders from the Mountain.

This is happening as his political ally Raila Odinga, on the other hand, continues traversing the country in his bid to make sure the Building Bridges Initiative BBI sails through.

The Constitution of Kenya (Amendment Bill 2020) has entered a crucial stage of debate and approval by the 47 county assemblies.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC on Tuesday January 26 sent the bill down to County Assemblies after it had confirmed and verified over one million signatures.
