UNCTAD members support Kituyi’s political ambitions

Saturday, February 6, 2021 -Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi has continued to receive accolades from his colleagues at the UNCTAD for his outstanding performance during his 8 year tenure.

The veteran diplomat who finally tendered his resignation is coming to join politics with ambitions of winning the presidency.

Delegates from his employer United Nations Conference on Trade and Development UNCTAD which has 195 member States applauded the outgoing secretary general for his “organized performance”.

While presiding over his last meeting on Wednesday, Kituyi was also commented for steering the organization to greater heights.

“We can appreciate the fruit of your work in many of the cornerstones that you leave behind for posterity,” Nasir Andisha said on behalf of member countries of the Group of 77 and China.

They hailed Mr. Kituyi as a champion of achievement as well as a fighter against inequalities and poverty.

Kituyi is expecting to use both his expertise and experience to run the country if he succeeds in winning the 2022 general election race.

Mr. Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto are top rivals in the race.
