Update: Turkey Earthquake and Death Toll

Tuesday, February 7, 2023 –It is established that close to 5,000 lives were claimed as several others left with crucial injuries in the powerful earthquake that shook walls in Turkey and Syria.

The devastating earthquake ripped through Turkey and Syria walls leaving behind unprecedented destruction.

Life saving exercise during a devastating earthquake on Monday

On the roads and highways were seen huge debris resting side by side while on the streets, rubbles covered thousands of lives buried alive.

A report by CNN confirmed that the earthquake which was considered to be the strongest ever started at around 4AM on Monday February 6 sending its tremors far and wide to the neighbouring Lebanon and Israel.

By Tuesday February 7 afternoon, Turkey’s authorities had recorded and confirmed 2,921 lost lives in the tremor as 15,800 were left injured fighting for their lives.

Turkey’s head of disaster services, Yunus Sezer, also stated that he had received records from Syria indicating that 1,451 persons had been confirmed dead.

Photos from the affected areas showed a sorry state of affairs as live savers and Samaritans combed through the rubble trying to save more lives trapped inside the fallen buildings.

Both police and highly-trained sniffer dogs were deployed in every scene to help identify lives and if possible save some.
