Sunday January 31, 2021 -Deputy President William Ruto has reacted to claims by President Uhuru Kenyatta about political debts.
Ruto on Sunday just a day after his boss Uhuru Kenyatta spoke about owing no one anything, the visibly angry Ruto has now said their agreement with Uhuru was not pegged on debts.
“I supported my friend Uhuru Kenyatta not because of his community, not because of the language he speaks… as President Kenyatta said yesterday correctly, he has no debt to me. Uhuru Kenyatta owes me nothing. There is only one debt that I share with Uhuru Kenyatta, and that is the debt of uniting this country,” said Ruto.
In his Sanaga State Lodge retreat on Saturday January 30, Mr. Kenyatta urged those people who have been pushing him to repay Ruto’s debt to stop because, as far as he was concerned, he owes no one anything.
Uhuru went on to take a swipe at Ruto and his Tangatanga brigade saying they have been an impediment to his legacy all along.
“You remember how they claimed to have been left out of the handshake. Remember how in Bomas I said how they involved and even nominated members to the BBI team? The truth must be told,” Uhuru said.
In an indirect reference to his DP, Uhuru warned those using the backdoor to gain an access to his vote rich region saying this must be stopped this early.
Ruto was answering to these claims during a Church service in aid of Maranatha Church held at Enoosaen Girls Grounds, Kilgoris Constituency in Narok County.
