Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, his wife Susan Wangari, two directors of Testimony Enterprises Limited (Charles Chege and Beth Wangeci) and former Kiambu Roads official Lucas Wahinya detained until Thursday, when a magistrate’s court will deliver their sentence after finding them guilty of corruption..
The group was found guilty over the irregular award of a Ksh 588 million roads tender. The convicted persons have pleaded for a non-custodial sentence, arguing that they have suffered immensely since their arraignment and deserve a second chance.
Waititu and wife had been accused of orchestrating multimilliion corruption at the County Government of Kiambu during his tenure in office.
