This young woman in Eldoret Town picked Ksh 60,000 in a club and when she was asked to return the money, she switched off her mobile phone.
The owner of the cash Mr. Kiptuma said he had come with sh 60,000 in the club to watch the Arsenal match; adding that the cash was part of the school fees for his daughter who is supposed to report back to school this week.
“You know myself I do not drink but I like watching football in clubs with my friends. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
“With me, I had sh 60,000 which I had just withdrawn from Equity. It was to pay part of my daughter’s school fees but lost it in the club.
“I really do not know if I was pickpocketed or the cash fell on the floor while I was pulling out my phone,” he explained painfully.
On trying to find out, it would, minutes later, be established through CCTV footage that a waitress who works there had picked the money but did not want to return.
What then happened was, the owner just said “it’s okay” and walked away. This did not take long and the rogue waitress came back with the money next day wailing in pain. Bees were all over her.
She was also confessing and asking for forgiveness. Everyone was shocked by the drama never seen before.
