Wednesday, August 3, 2022 –Prof George Luchiri Wajakoyah has denied endorsing Raila Odinga in a Kisumu club over the weekend.
The Roots Party leader now says whatever he uttered inside the Kisumu entertainment joint was taken out of context and that he is still in the race upto the ballot.
He was responding to a viral clip in which he appeared hinting at throwing weight behind Mr. Odinga of Azimio on August 9.
“I am here to join the battle of liberators in this country and the person who makes me stand here is none other than Raila Amollo Odinga,” Wajackoyah was captured saying amid cheers from the revelers.
In a statement he issued on Wednesday August 3, he said that he believes in Odinga than any other candidate but that should not be taken to mean he is leaving the race for him.
“We would like to categorically state that we have a presidential candidate who is on the Ballot and will win this election. We have not and will not endorse any other candidate.
“We would like to distance ourselves from those claims and assure our supporters that victory is coming,” their statement read partly.
This is not the first time Wajackoyah is speaking about Mr Odinga, on June 27, the lawyer also told Kisumu residents that a win for Raila is a win for him and the vice versa.
