Wanjigi to Withdraw his Membership From ODM

Monday, November 22, 2021 –Presidential hopeful Jimmy Wanjigi has hinted at severing ways with Raila Odinga over party politics.

Addressing his differences with ODM Party leadership on Sunday November 21, the billionaire businessman-turned-politician argued that he will not be going for anything less than the delegates competitive nominations.

He believes he has what it takes to beat Raila any day if the Party’s constitution is followed to the latter and warned that any short cuts will not be tolerated.

He threatened to quit ODM Party if they try to go the direct ticket way in finding who flies party’s flag in 2022.

“Why would I stay in a party that does not follow its own laid down rules? I will not. “I can assure you that the party will have big problems. You know, we have also invested heavily in this party,” he stated.

Wanjigi wants nomination process done above board through the delegates system as stipulated in party laws for fairness to prevail.

The politician, however, indicated that he won’t die lying low as an envelope and stated that he will have to pile more pressure to the party to do the right thing before its too late.

He remarked that his love for the party cannot just be smoked away within a day and he would rather fight for what he believes is right.

“We love this party, and you know we are not going to walk out like that. We are not!” he remarked.

Wanjigi wants to face-off with his boss Raila Odinga in the party primaries which may or may not take place depending on what the party may deem fit and safe. In the past, for instance, ODM Party nominations had been marred by chaos and to save face this round, they may decide to adopt the consensus way.
