Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama sarcastically commented on Raila Odinga’s quickly diminishing political career after losing in Msambweni mini-polls.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday December16th morning, Muthama said Msambweni people had sent a tough warming to the ODM Party boss Raila Odinga by voting in his opponent for the Msambweni seat.
Mr. Muthama who appeared unable to hide his excitement after their candidate Feisal Bader took a huge lead, said the message was clear for both President Uhuru and his friend Raila Odinga.
He added that, with their Building Bridges Initiative BBI, there were signs that it would again leave them in another tragedy.
“This was about the BBI politics and the 2022 elections. Their leader Raila Odinga came here to campaign for their candidate even the president Uhuru Kenyatta took a picture with Boga but we chewed them. We took them and threw them in a basket, ” the former Machakos senator Johnston Muthama said on Wednesday.
Muthama who was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly being behind rampant bribery activities in Msambweni said no police asked him for any statement during his daylong custody terming the arrest political but which did not tilt the results.
Feisal Bader would later be declared the winner of the Msambweni by-elections beating the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party candidate Omar Boga by a big margin.
