Friday, December 31, 2021 –Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has made a confirmation that he will not be part of the Bukhungu II Luhya convention held in Kakamega town.

The Friday December 31 event which is organized by Central Organization of Trade Union COTU boss Francis Atwoli alongiside other leaders will also be attended by ODM Party boss Raila Odinga.

In a tweet this morning Friday December 31, the Ford Kenya Party leader announced his schedule in which he indicated that he will be meeting party officials fetched from Trans Nzoia County to strategize for 2022 General Election then later show up at a boat racing event in Busia County.

“Today I am meeting Ford Kenya Officials and party candidates in Trans Nzoia to plan for 2022. Thereafter I will attend end year boat racing at Number Beach in Bwiri ward Busia County,” he tweeted.

In an earlier media briefing, the convener of the Bukhungu 2 event Francis Atwoli said the function was open to all leaders from Mulembe Nation and that he had invited Musalia Mudavadi of ANC Party, Moses Wetang’ula(Ford Kenya), Cyrus Jirongo, Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and scores of other leaders from the community.

Atwoli added that whoever will not be attending the event will be relegated to oblivion as far as Luhya nation politics is concerned.

The vocal unionist clarified that the meeting was not for anyone in specific but to deliberate on the 2022 politics and the unity of luhya people ahead of 2022 elections.

Also invited is KANU Party chairman Gideon Moi, Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka among other top personalities.

“Mudavadi is still the spokesperson of the Luhya community. So we are only interested to know who will be part of the next government. That is why we have invited him, Wetang’ula and other OKA principals who are our friends,” said Atwoli.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who had threatened to hire goons to stop the meeting stated that both Wetang’ula and Mudavadi will be gracing his Cleo Malala tournament in Mumias Town today at night.
