Friday, November 5, 2021 –Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula has been exposed in another multi-million gold scam he was involved in.
Making the revelations during the Ford Kenya’s National Delegates Conference meeting held in Nairobi on Thursday November 4, KANU Party Chairman Gideon Moi revealed how Wetang’ula scammed his late brother Jonathan Moi in a plan that was to make both families rich.
Gideon stated that his close ties with Wetang’ula started long when the senator was a friend with his elder brother – the late Jonathan.
And besides being their Lawyer, Wetang’ula started introducing business ideas to Janathan and that is when he one day persuaded him into a gold business deal that turned out to be big fraud.
The legislator enticed his brother into the deal which saw both travel to Tanzania with high expectations that they would return very rich. Wetang’ula allegedly promised to turn around lives of Janathan’s sibling into overnight millionaires.
“Wetang’ula tricked my brother and they both went to Tanzania to trade in gold.
“They collected cash and told us to wait because the business would change our lives, I am still waiting to date for our lives to change,” he stated amidst laughter from the audience.
This development was first spoken at Jonathan funeral when Wetang’ula was forced to explain what transpired between him and the late. He would then recount how they had a failed business mission in Tanzania.
This reminds the country of the 2019 story in which the senator’s name was also adversely mentioned in a multi-million scandal in which a Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum lost his sh 400 million in fake gold syndicate.
Among the strings of evidence in the case was an audible audio recording between a Kenyan contact ‘Wetang’ula’ and a representative of the Dubai client.
