Tuesday, February 23, 2021 -Juja legislator Francis Munyua Waititu aka Wakapee died from Brain Cancer which he has been battling since 2018.
Wakapee, according to insiders, is a nickname which originated from his character of dishing drinks to any random patron who stumbled on him in a local joint. He would order waiters to give him or her a drink – The English version of Wakapee is to give.
After being diagnosed of the deadly Cancer, the MP started seeking treatment both in and outside the country. He would travel to India on a regular basis what triggered his desire to start a Cancer Treatment Center in Kiambu County before the disease took a toll on him.
After his demise on Monday February 23 evening, his Gatundu counterpart Moses Kuria termed the late as a dedicated leader who fought to improve lives in his Juja Constituency.
“Cancer has robbed Kenya a brilliant leader,” MP Kuria mourned.
Due to the disease, the late Wakapee reportedly lost memory since last year.
