Friday, March 24, 2023 –16% of 2,065 respondents have mentioned that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition would not succeed in removing Ruto from office while 12% were not sure.
According to the latest report from Trends and Insights for Africa Tifa polls, a majority of Kenyans think the country is headed in the wrong direction at 48% as opposed to 37% who think the country is on the right track.
On Friday, March 24, Tifa Research released opinion poll results showing that 64% of Kenyans are opposed to the ongoing mass action as only 31 percent believe Raila’s protests that kicked off on Monday March 20 mean well for the nation.
Moreover, the findings established that only 4 percent of the respondents had no option on whether the mass protests could help or not.
“Among the public as a whole, nearly two-thirds (64%) opposed the planned Azimio demonstrations. Even among their supporters, only slightly over half (56%) expressed support for these protests,” the report read, partly.
The opposition launched massive protests to take place every Monday and Thursdays of every week in Nairobi.
Odinga, Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka and Roots Party leader Prof George Wajackoyah have maintained that their main reason for the protests is to help poor Kenyans push the State to lower the cost of living which is currently too high.
They are also pushing for electoral reforms as the old office of Wafula Chebukati exits stage this year. Furthermore, Odinga wants IEBC servers opened for scrutiny to ascertain who won the highly-contest August 9 polls that saw Ruto declared with a ballot difference of close to 200,000 votes only.
The research firm carried out a wide-ranging, face-to-face, phone call and household survey involving 2,065 respondents between March 11 and March 19, 2023.
