Saturday, February 10, 2024 –Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga has given a greenlight to Kalonzo Musyoka to vie for the top seat in 2027.
Raila, who was addressing mourners in Kitui County today Saturday February 10, said their coalition remains intact with every principal on board.
He said, the ongoing popularisation tours by each affiliate party should not be construed by the public to mean they were going separate ways.
“I am shocked that some sections think when Kalonzo is walking around with Eugene, we have severed ways. Kalonzo, just like myself, is free to go round the country and meet the people.
“All of us are trying to meet and register more members not because we want to separate but because we want to be strong as a coalition,” Raila also stated.
He went on to state that there is nothing wrong when each party leader in Azimio announces bid to run for the presidency.
“I can support Kalonzo too. He is a man who has been loyal to me for many years. We are going to agree on this when the right time comes,” he added further.
The opposition leader allowed Eugene Wamalwa, Martha Karua and George Luchiri Wajakoyah to continue showing their interest in the top seat as long as focus remains to take over power in 2027.
On his part, Mr. Musyoka expressed gratitude to the coalition boss Raila Odinga for showing up in Kitui today to mourn with the family.
The family laid to rest his(Kalonzo)brother-in-law, Willie Mulwa Muasya, in a burial function conducted in Kitui and attended by several local and national leaders.
