Monday, March 7, 2022 –An Azimio supporter pushed Deputy President William Ruto to a tight corner after tasking him to discuss corruption topic in the United Kingdom
The events which took place at Chatham House saw a lady by the name Rosemary Adigor who also introduced herself as PR Azimio UK Chapter ask the DP to explain what he was going to do differently after having served in government for nine years.
She wanted the DP to tell the world why he still thinks he is the most suitable to take over the power from President Kenyatta despite having either failed or prospered together.
“First, when you formed the government with His Excellency President Kenyatta he treated you more like a principal and in that case you were given some of the most powerful dockets as any deputy president. We have never seen that sort of thing.
“So that was generosity from his part but you also played it because you also brought the numbers with you. So what I want to ask is what are you going to do differently having seen the level of corruption that engulfed our country to an extent whereby people can’t even afford to buy milk, people can’t even afford to buy even just oil, and yet we have people who are just rolling in lots of money,” she posed.
She went on to pile pressure on the DP whom she asked to admit whether he was willing to concede defeat or not when election results are announced in the August 9 polls.
“Second question, should you not win the election are you going to concede defeat and advocate for peace in our country? Because we know the story and we are all eyes watching,” she went on.
But while responding to the question, Ruto avoided the corruption question and went straight to castigate the Handshake agenda which he described as a fraud visited to the people of Kenya.
He would decide to list the many kilometers of roads they had delivered on their first term as Jubilee Government.
DP Ruto is winding up his US/UK political tour which took him 10 days to complete.
