Thursday, August 5, 2021 -Vocal Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe now says they have a sure alternative should the Building Bridges Initiative BBI Draft Bill stall at the Appellate Court.
In the next two weeks, the verdict is expected to be made by judges following the filing of the case in the court by both former premier Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Though Uhuru and Raila believe that the BBI will change the way the country has been run for decades, their fierce rivals on the other hand led by Deputy President William Ruto thinks otherwise. Ruto believes the BBI agenda was political and not substantial in content.
And speaking in an event organized in Murang’a and which was presided over by Hon Raila Odinga on Wednesday August 5, Mr. David Murathe said even if the BBI flops, making sure Mr. Odinga takes power will remain their top agenda and after he assumes office he will have resuscitate it and so there is still hope.
He added that this makes one of the main reasons they must force a Raila Presidency in 2022 after Kenyatta is done with his stint.
“Don’t worry about the BBI. If it flops we have another option and this is to make sure Tinga takes charge from 2022 and it will be definitely back,” he said.
Murathe took the opportunity to warn the youths against supporting the Deputy President saying that would be the biggest mistake ever done to this country.
He even sought to know what he DP has been doing since 2013 when he was left with alot of latitude to run and implement Jubilee agenda; but instead “chose to loot”.
