- X Introduces M-Pesa Payment Feature - November 22, 2024
Monday, September 16, 2024 –Now almost every Kenyan business owner requires mobile money transaction or transactions to expedite payments.
Mobile money between businessmen and clients has since become the main way of settling payments. Every business that has links with the Kenyan or even any other market now has to be ready to pay or receive payments through mobile means.
In Kenya, businesses are getting paid via a common mobile money transfer service called M-PESA which is an old but key product of the giant Telco company, Safaricom.
M-pesa is not only efficient but also fast and easier for payments of any amount and, for that reason, Safaricom had to come up with extended payment products for it’s clientele like Till Number and the Pay Bill Number.
To apply for the Till Number under the Buy Goods plan, a trader will need to arm him or herself with a trading certificate or permit from the municipality revenue office or Business registration certificate from the Attorney General AG office.
And to acquire a Pay Bill Number, a business owner must be registered either as a sole proprietor or a partnership. He or she must have a KRA Pin and a cancelled check from the bank. Alternatively, one is required to have a recommendation letter from their bank.
Once you are equipped with the documents as stated above, take them to any nearby Safaricom customer care shop and get them approved. It takes about 48 hours to be approved. Safaricom issues you with a notification line where you will be getting payment updates in real time.
