The sort of governments we elect in power don’t help things any better. We elect governments that do not make any meaningful impact into our lives.
It is for this reason that I tend to believe that most African nations would be better without government in place. Our politicians only go to power to share offices and positions among themselves.
They shamelessly share positions with clandestine, family members, cronies and wives or husbands. They also, nowadays, jostle for lucrative tenders which private individuals should be bagging to also earn a living for their families.
For instance, in Kenya, a senior state officer who was recently axed from office was running over 22 briefcase companies all doing the same work. Why would someone register that number of businesses meant to do the same work? If this is not corruption what is it?
We elect fraudsters in office and still expect them to deliver on anything. A government elected two years ago still struggling to understand its job description leaves more questions than answers.
There is absolutely no need to have a government if what we can have is clueless money launderers and tender-preneurs launch white elephant projects to loot more.
I believe any African nation would be better without elected government since their governments are only meant to make life unbearable by looting, flying in and out and overspending on personal matters.
