Why Coach Mulee has Resigned From Harambee Stars

Friday, September 17, 2021 -Harambee Stars Coach Jaob Ghost Mulee has resigned barely a week after his Rwanda game which they drew.

On Thursday September 17 morning, Mr. Mulee revealed that he may not be able to deliver for the national side even if he stayed longer due to the situation he is currently battling.

He linked his unexpected resignation to family matters which requires his undivided attention.

Speaking this to Radio Jambo, the ex-head coach divulged that his ailing brother needs him more than anything else.

“ I have been going through a tough time. I was in India for two months with my brother who is ailing. After returning from India, a lot of things changed personally.

“I had plans for the team but I thought I would be doing the country a disservice if I remained as the head coach yet I have personal issues affecting me,” said Mulee.

He also noted that his resignation could have come even earlier but decided to remain put so as to steer the team to some level in the World Cup qualifiers.

According to Mulee, he did not just resign, he had to first sit down with the football federation FKF before penning his final resignation letter.

“We were just about to start the World Cup qualifying games and in that situation, it is very difficult for a coach to resign.

“After the draw against Rwanda and Uganda, I sat down with the FKF and we all saw it fit that I hand over to someone else,” he added.

Mulee, in April this year, caused panic among his fans after he shared an emotional photo resting in a hospital bed with his brother in India.
