Thursday, March 24, 2022 –News anchor Janet Mbugua has decided to withdraw from the running mate position offered to her by one of the gubernatorial candidates for Kiambu County.

Making the revelations today Thursday March 24, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria claimed that the former Citizen TV presenter and media personality was not willing to deputize him despite having emerged top in the interviews.

That despite having scored higher marks than the rest, the sassy anchor did not want to take up the job due to her own reasons.

Sources claim that she did not want anything to do with Moses Kuria after he recently uttered some things meant to demean women as well as Raila Odinga.

“I am shattered. After scoring the highest marks in the talent search for Kiambu Deputy Governor, Janet Mbugua will not be taking up the job due to unforeseen personal emergencies that she has to attend to in the immediate term,” he wrote.

Kuria who is the Chama Cha Kazi Party leader noted that he was disappointed after she turned down the lucrative offer.

He however, promised to continue engaging her in making sure the county gains from her experience and Inua Dada services.

“My administration will definitely find a way to benefit from her experience and capacity in the future. I feel the loss. Janet is a huge inspiration for the youth, for professionals, for women and for young mothers of this country,” Kuria remarked.

In a full-page colored advertisement published in local dailies, MP Kuria, who is eyeing the Kiambu County gubernatorial seat in the August 9, 2022 polls invited potential applications for the running mate position which saw various participants take part.

The Kiambu seat also has other key figures like William Kabogo, Senator Kimani Wamatangi and the incumbent James Nyoro.
