Monday, October 24, 2022 –Lawyer Miguna Miguna rejected an interview with the Moi-Owned Standard Group stations after the hosts required him to sign a blanket indemnity.
Dr. Miguna, through his social media walls, on Monday October 24 morning revealed how he was required to sign some rules before sitting on both the Spice FM, and KTN Home Tv shows; what he turned down before he even shook hands with the hosts.
In the rules shared by the lawyer, Clause 5 was key in turning him away despite arriving for the highly-publicized morning show.
“I hereby release, discharge, and agree to fully indemnify the Company its legal representatives and assigns, from all claims, causes of action and liability of any kind, now known or unknown, in law or in equity out of the Interview including, without limitation to claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, violation of one’s personal and/or sensitive data,” partly read the indemnity form.
He would end up calling out the Mombasa Road-based station for trying to force him into signing interview agreements that do not sound reasonable in his own assessment.
“Azimio Council Member Gideon and his Standard Kenya team tried to gag and force me to give them a blanket indemnity one minute before the interview started. Of course, I refused to sign this death warrant. The hosts did not even greet me. It was a silly set up,” he added.
He described the development as backward and what he cannot take to be allowed to sit for a mere radio or Tv show.
