Sunday, August 28, 2022 –Mr. Raila Odinga has urged their supporters to follow the Supreme Court proceedings from the comfort of their homes and offices.
This is a sudden about-turn from his earlier announcement that their supporters should come out in droves and hold vigil around both the Supreme Court and all Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC offices.
In a statement relayed through Azimio la Umoja Director of Communications, Dennis Onsarigo, Odinga noted that the decision to halt nationwide vigils was informed by the fact that consultations with other leaders within their coalition pointed to something else.
“We have cancelled the earlier plans after consulting widely with the senior party officials.
“The church service will, however, stand as we had told our supporters. We urge them to join us for the church service in Kibra,” stated Onsarigo.
This now means every of their supporter will calm at home or their working stations to follow the proceedings through online live streaming, radio or Tv.
“Our supporters are advised to watch the proceedings of the Supreme Court from the comfort of their homes when the court commences hearings,” read the statement signed by Onsarigo.
Earlier in the day, the alliance had planned to attend a Church Service at the AIC Olympic in Kibra beginning at 11AM before holding a mega rally at Kamukunji Grounds where further instructions would be delivered on the panned 7-day vigil.
