Saturday, November 13, 2021 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has cautioned Deputy President William Ruto against reckless utterances saying this can easily cost him during campaigns.
Appearing on an interview a day ago, Mr. Odinga said Ruto had a successful start in Nyanza Region until he damaged himself along the way when he started to utter things that some people didn’t like to hear. He advised Ruto to restrain from recklessness since it may not be taken lightly by an ignorant man in the village who may capitalize on it to cause chaos.
Mr. Odinga reminded Ruto that when he(Raila) toured Eldoret Town a couple of days ago, he was well received because he observed respect, calm and decorum.
Raila added that Ruto is an inconsequential person for him and cannot waste his time planning to stone his motorcade.
“If you yourself utter a speech that makes the crowd angry, this may make some people react and take action in unsavory ways.”
“I however don’t see a problem here since we have come from a different level of democracy to another. Democracy is continuing to thrive in our country,” Raila Odinga said in an interview.
The ODM Party boss blamed Ruto for Kondele chaos that ensued shortly after he(Ruto) started addressing locals at the busy Round About.
The opposition honcho was speaking this after the deputy president directly linked him to the Kisumu Wednesday violence that left so many cars damaged.
