In fact, according to those who have been affected, there has not been any communication in form of notice to them from the company.

Parts of the country like Kakamega, Kisumu,Kajiado and around Nairobi have been lacking network with users counting losses of their subscriptions.

A source from the company has told this writer that the main reason there has been prolonged blackout is because of huge debts the service provider has with its contractors.

For example, the American Towers Corporation ATC switched off half of its masts spread across the country over a sh 200 million pending bill. The source reported.

In 2013, Telkom sold 723 base stations to ATC on a sale and leaseback agreement to cut on operation costs. Moreover, this saw Communications Workers Union COWU aske the government to inject funds into Telkom Kenya to save the company from imminent collapse.

Todate, the government reportedly owes Telkom over sh 2 billion for services rendered.
