Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru has started an early preparation to remain in government beyond her two terms as governor.
Waiguru appears a cleverer politician than Rigathi Gachagua ten times. Waiguru knows that Gachagua is going nowhere. She, seemingly, knows the ex-DP is reacting the way he does in anger. He is not mature enough to solve Mt. Kenya issues when he is sober and without much too much noise.
Of late, we have seen Waiguru tell off Gachagua over his outbursts. Waiguru knows well that Gachagua’s endless noise and tantrums will cost Mt. Kenya people the presidency. She knows Gachagua is currently unelectable because he was impeached and cannot, therefore, purport to give directions to anyone on where to go or not go.
Waiguru is sure that should Raila and Ruto unite against Kikuyus, next Government will remain theirs. She knows her second term is coming to an end and, therefore, she may not run for any lesser seat. The only position she can take is in the national government most likely a Cabinet Secretary position.
And to get one, she doesn’t need Gachagua, she needs Ruto and Raila. Gachagua may help those running for smaller positions like MPs and MCAs. She is nolonger interested in small seats. She is way above that.
It is because of this reason that she doesn’t find Gachagua so much helpful in her next political step. In fact, Gachagua looks more destructive. To be safe, one has to keep off.
The former Devolution CS will, therefore, be going against the wishes of Gachagua all the time. And she is not alone. Many other leaders around Mt. Kenya Region will be doing the same. Remember, Gachagua is a politician who runs political affairs with too much feelings and anger. Such persons do not go very far. Sorry!
