Friday, August 13, 2021 -Government has finally revealed the reason why they had to deport away Turkish foreigner Harun Aydin.
Cabinet Secretary Interior Dr. Matiang’i on Friday August 13 revealed the dirty business deals Aydin was involved in while living in Kenya and said they had no alternative but to deport him back home.
Appearing before the national Assembly Security Committee today on Friday, the Cabinet secretary confirmed what triggered the Kenyan government to take the action it took on Saturday.
He revealed that Aydin was flagged by top security agencies for money laundering activities and other related crimes.
“Harun Aydin’s documents show he was working in the energy sector but his contract was a dummy.
“He got a work permit on 25th June 2021. Security agencies flagged Aydin for his regional travels & was associated with people dealing in money laundering,” Matiang’i said.
The CS also clarified that the country was yet to apologize to Turkey over the saga as claimed by certain media houses.
“Security agencies in our country were in talks with his country (Harun Aydin’s) & agreed on the basis of mutuality to surrender him to his country. The government of Kenya has not apologized, we are a country run by law & order, there is a way government’s deal with each other,’’ he said.
When Harun had been deported, DP and his allies came out guns blazing asking the State to respect foreign investors.
