Tuesday March 23, 2021 -After threatening to take leave from Tangatanga politics, Kimilili Lawmaker Didmnus Barasa has made his first move.
On Monday March 23, the vocal Bungoma based MP was seen having a nice time with several Amani National congress allied politicians at undisclosed place. In their company was the newly elected Matungu Member of Parliament Oscar Peter Nabulindo.
Though the motive still not quite clear, the Kimilili MP seems to be gravitating towards either the Musalia Mudavadi led party or Wetnag’ula’s Ford Kenya Party.
Barasa, during his announcement he made from his rural home over the weekend, mentioned his intentions to work with leaders from his Mulembe Region to consolidate their vote ahead of the 2022 race.
“If the hustler nation will not have interest of my Kimilili people at heart, then I will automatically quit because politics is about interests,’’ said Barasa.
Word has it that he is also looking at which best political party may propel him to the gubernatorial position in the next elections as he is eying to become the next Bungoma Governor. In this race, however, he will have to content with the likes of current Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, MP Timothy Wanyonyi(Westlands) and the incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati.
Well-placed sources indicated that the ANC youthful brigade are in their early stages of wooing the William Ruto-ally Mr. Barasa to join them so as to actualize the Mudavadi presidential Bid.
