Thursday, October 26, 2023 –Eric Maigo murder key suspect Anne Adhiambo has told the court that she played part in the crime.
On Thursday October 26 in a Nairobi court before Justice Kaanyi Kimondo, Anne who had been granted a chance to take her plea before official commencement of the case, pleaded guilty to the crime.
After taking the plea, Justice Kimondo granted her another time so that she could consult with her lawyers to understand the charges and the gravity of her plea.
“I am giving you more time so that you can consult your lawyer and get an understanding of what you have told the court.
“In the interest of justice, I have given her time to consult with her lawyer before taking plea again,” the judge directed.
The judge directed that the prime suspect be held at the Lang’a Women Prison until when she will be brought back in court for a fresh plea.
The case will be heard and determined at the Kibra Law Courts with its mention scheduled November 8 this year.
The slain Maigo was discovered dead inside his house at Woodley Estate on September 15; what triggered an immediate search by the police drawn from the DCI department before they flushed her out of her hideout in Kibra slum where she had run to for days.
In her court papers, the suspect had claimed that she acted in self defence after the diseased man wanted to rape her.
Her account of how they met stated that Mr. Eric picked her up on the highway after she had been thrown out by her aunt over some differences.
He then drove with her to him house where he reportedly wanted to make merry with her before he was murdered in cold blood.
The late Maigo was buried on September 29 even as his father, Zebedeo Onchari, refuted claims that his son would have caused harm to anyone.
