Saturday, September 4, 2021 -Guests at Deputy President William Ruto had to scamper for safety when antiriot police unit showed around his Karen residence on Friday.
Sources have told media that there was a team of anti-riot police hovering outside the DP’s Karen home at the time he(Ruto) was meeting youths leaders fetched from around Nairobi County.
Those who were found loitering outside the DPs home had to scamper for their dear lives fearing that they could be victimized by the force infamous for dispersing illegal public gatherings.
Making this confirmation, DP’s communication team led by Emmanuel Talam told reporters that there were seen anti-riot police officers surrounding the area but termed it as silly intimidation tactics that won’t go very far.
And reacting on the matter, Police Spokesman Bruno Shioso refuted such plans wondering why Ruto and his group were whipping emotions of their supporters for sympathy reasons.
“It’s our business to maintain security and we patrol each and every corner of this city to make sure that security is tight,” the Police spokesperson responded.
This security incident is coming against the backdrop of a chopped off security detail of the deputy president.
Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiag’i recently told Parliamentary Committee on Security that Ruto has been misusing police officers by donating some to his allies against the law.
