Sunday, April 4, 2021 -Cherengany Member of Parliament Joshua Kutuny has fired another warning to party rebels.
In his Saturday address over those disobeying party guidelines, rules and regulations, the Jubilee new Deputy Secretary General stated that, just like in the case of Senator Isaac Mwaura, so shall be others and this will be taking place as soon as possible.
“If Jubilee is the party which took you to parliament, and you articulate another party’s agenda, why can’t you step down and seek fresh mandate from the people?” Kutuny told the Sunday Nation.
According to the MP, the party had started marking those that are causing confusion and soon they will be replaced with serious loyalists. He stated that upto now, they have six individuals they want replaced in the shortest time possible.
“The fate of the six nominated senators is now sealed. It is now formal that we will replace them, we are going to have a vibrant team which is going to come in,” said Mr Kutuny.
He argued that any individual who had strayed away from the party policies will have to be expelled by all force possible because that is the only way any political party can be governed.
“We are going to identify people who are going to be committed to the party. We have men and women who are ready to take up those positions, popularise the agenda of the party and be loyal,” said Mr Kutuny.
His remarks come just days after Secretary General Raphael Tuju warned that it was becoming difficult for the party to maintain faces that are not subscribing to the party ideals.
He also defended that anyone who was kicked out of the party position in the recent purge must not complain because they are themselves to blame.
“When you see us taking action against any renegade party officials, it is not something that we do gleefully. By the time we take action against any individual, it’s because they have created a situation that is almost untenable,” said Mr Tuju, citing Soy MP Caleb Kositany.
Tuju further defended that with Kositany, they had tolerated it for almost a year and the axe had to finally fall.
