President William Ruto is expected to announce a Cabinet reshuffle this week with sources close to the head of state indicating at least two news faces will join his government.
In a brief story carried out by the Star, among the names under consideration is former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, who may be appointed as the new Interior CS to replace Kithure Kindiki, who was promoted to Deputy President position.
Ruto wil also use the opportunity to clean his house off any remnants of and loyalist to his estranged DP Rigathi Gachagua.
Other notable names for the Interior post are Sports Cs Kipchumba Murkomen, ODM’s Junet Mohamed, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah among others.
Mutahi Kagwe’s name is highly featured because of the need for William Ruto to reunite with his former boss Uhuru Kenyatta amid Mt Kenya storm.
