Tuesday, March 16, 2021 -Newly appointed Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary General Joshua Kutuny has revealed his plans to force truce between Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto
In his latest address just days after assuming office, Mr. Kutuny said Kenyatta had indicated willingness to forgive his deputy and allies.
The Charengany legislator added that the president was eagerly waiting for that moment the Jubilee Party will be together; and this can only be achieved through truce. That Uhuru had already allowed him to start reaching out to all rebels from Tangatanga group and that the reception was, so far, overwhelming.
“In my new party position, I want to reach out to Tangatanga MPs, to understand their issues and why they have decided to defy the party. I have already started engaging them, the reception is good.” Kutuny disclosed.
Kutuny promised that his main work will be to reduce the friction within their party ahead of the 2022 elections.
“The reception is very good from the party leader about the divergent opinions that we are collecting from our colleagues and we are going to reduce the fights, you will see very soon. We are going to close the gaps and pass this to the party leader so he can create room for engagement,” Kutuny revealed on TV interview.
Whether Kutuny was speaking the true state of affairs in their Jubilee Party or not, the truth shall only come out after sometime.
This will also mean that Uhuru and Mr. Odinga’s looming separation becomes real owing to the fact that there was no way Ruto and Raila could remain in the same camp even for a day due to their political rivalry and clamour to succeed Uhuru.
