Wednesday, February 17, 2021 – Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has cautioned those undermining his presidential ambition that he will prove a point to them.
He explained that just like Moi was undermined by a section of elites so is he and this will not stop him from pursuing a course to lead the country.
Addressing Nyali residents a day ago, Mr. Joho recounted how he got into politics when so many people thought he would end nowhere but he became Kisauni Member of Parliament and rose so fast to become a two term governor of Mombasa.
“I started as a joke and people said I was going nowhere but after serving Kisauni residents, I was again elected Mombasa Governor,” he recounted his political journey.
He likened his political rise to that of the late President Daniel Moi saying he(Moi) was overlooked but proved so many people wrong when he finally got to power and ran the country for 24 years.
The governor has asked those with likeminds to join him in steering his ambition forward ahead of the 2022 race.
In Orange Democratic Movement alone, potential candidates include, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe oparanya, Party leader Raila Odinga and now Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
