A Nairobi judge has accused the State of keeping comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi in custody for a whole weekend.
In his court proceedings shared online today, the unnamed judge accused the prosecution of misdemeanor saying the law doesn’t allow neither the prosecution nor the court to go to a such an extend.
“In such offenses, you don’t need to keep someone in custody for the whole weekend. Is a misdemeanor. Not necessarily Eric even the other persons,” the judge noted urging the State to always embrace the Constitution.
Eric would then be freed on a Cash bail of sh 5000.
