Tuesday, July 13, 2021 -Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi who is accused of assaulting a fellow official was arrested on Tuesday morning.
Mr. Havi told homenews.co.ke news desk that he had actually been arrested and was in custody at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road.
He was accused of an assault by the suspended Law Society of Kenya LSK Chief Executive Officer CEO Mercy Wambua who claimed that their president had injured her hand and it had swollen. This was during a Monday July 12 meeting along their Gitanga Road based offices.
“I feel harassed and bullied, my hand is painful as we speak and my finger can’t actually stretch…and this is not the first time this is happening, even on Friday he attempted to assault me,” she told the media flanked by her lawyer Steve Ogolla.
On his part, Nelson Havi alleged that Ms Wambua was not invited in the meeting and only forced her way into one of the boardrooms to record the proceedings; what he went to stop, slammed her laptop and dragged her out.

Havi and Wambua have for some time now been engaged in a fierce verbal exchange over LSK leadership.
According to Havi, Wambua was a status quo puppet who is not serious with leadership of the lawyers’ body. He has severally described her as a mole within the LSK.
For instance last Friday July 9, lawyer Havi revealed in a press statement that Wambua was preventing plans for a proposed audit on the use of allocated funds. He added that his attempts to access bank details including statements had been made difficult by Wambua.
The president has since accused the CEO of being in office against the law as well as colluding with outsiders to interfere with his leadership.
Havi also divulged that Ms Wambu is currently serving a compulsory leave which she is yet to honour.
