Raila Escapes Death as Chopper Crashes in Kisumu

Sunday, May 30, 2021 -Raila Odinga’s chopper today crashed leaving panic among his supporters across the country. Four people escaped with minor injuries.

In a statement seen by Homenews.co.ke, the chopper was to drop the former premier at Kudho Primary School before it got involved in the accident.

“The Helicopter, Bell 407, Registration 5Y-PSM had dropped Mr Odinga at Kudho Primary School in Gem when it attempted to lift off to create space for other planes. Unfortunately, it crashed. There were no fatalities as the pilot and four others who on board escaped with minor injuries,” an official statement read in part.

Mr. Odinga however proceed to his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta with whom they are planning to hold the Madaraka Day together. Uhuru had touched down in Kisumu for a three day long working tour where he is expected to launch several development projects.

The President was in the company of Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and other several top government officials.

Uhuru is also expected to host Burundian president Evariste Ndayishimiye who will be present in the Madaraka Day celebrations as the chief guest.

Mr. Kenyatta, in his public speech while at Wagai Market in Gem Constituency,urged the country to prepare for a Referendum saying he had full faith in the team of lawyers led by James Orengo who will be fighting to overturn the Court of Appeal decision that had annulled the Bill.
